Polk Museum of Art is currently taking enrollments for SummerArt Camp for children ages 5-13. The theme of this year's camp is "Modern Art...Up, Up, and Away!"

Polk Museum of Art Taking Enrollments for SummerArt Camp for Children

LAKELAND, FL. -- Polk Museum of Art is currently taking enrollments for SummerArt Camp for children ages 5-13. The theme of this year's camp is "Modern Art...Up, Up, and Away!"

Camp runs June 14 - August 6, and is broken into four, two-week sessions. Students may take one to three classes per day, per session, and may enroll in any session. Each session will be themed to a different modern art period.

Session 1 will run June 14 - June 25, and will focus on the 1900s through the 1910s. Movements that may be included are Art Nouveau, Cubism and Futurism.

In session 2, which runs June 28 - July 9, students will learn about styles from the 1920s including Surrealism, Art Deco, and the Harlem Renaissance.

Session 3, July 12 - July 23, will feature the 1950s and include Pop Art, Color Field painting, and Neo-Dadaism.

Session 4 runs July 26 - August 6 and will cover the 1960s through the present. Some of the styles to be covered will be Op Art, Minimalism, and Computer Art.

Classes offered throughout the summer include Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Digital Photography, Mixed Media Art, Wearable Art, Printmaking, and Performance Play. Classes are taught by certified art teachers and/or art professionals. All teachers and Museum staff are background checked as per the Jessica Lunsford Act.

Tuition for SummerArt Camp is $115 per class, per student, with discounts given for Museum members and enrolling in multiple classes. For example, a non-member student who enrolls in three classes per day for one session will cost $330 for the session.

ADMISSION:
$5 General  ::  $4 Seniors ::  Students Admitted FREE.
Members and Children age 5 and Younger Admitted FREE.
