Development Director: The Polk Museum of Art in Lakeland, Florida, is seeking a seasoned fundraising professional to lead the Museum’s development and advancement efforts, and to manage external affairs.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of senior level oversight of fundraising activities, including membership, major gifts, individual giving, corporate sponsorships, foundation cultivation, and special events management. The candidate should possess knowledge of planned giving and experience with capital campaigns. The Development Director will have oversight of the Museum’s marketing and communications initiatives, membership activities, and special events, and will be a member of the senior management team, with the responsibility of coordinating strategic planning.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have a strong work ethic, and be excited by a dynamic work environment. Strong preference will be given to those with specific experience in arts and/or museum fundraising.
The Polk Museum of Art is a Central Florida signature museum and is celebrating its 44th anniversary in 2010. The Museum holds one of the most important and diverse collections in the Southeast, and is nationally recognized for its programming, is accredited by the American Association of Museums, and is ranked as a Top 10 Florida art museum. The Museum is within the Lake Morton cultural and historic district of Lakeland, and is located conveniently between Tampa and Orlando.
